Day 1: Arrival

  • Arrival at Zvartnots International Airport.
  • Meet and greet to Yerevan. 
  • Overnight in Yerevan.

 

Day 2: City Tour in Yerevan

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Yerevan Sightseeing City tour, including City center, Mother Armenia Monument with a panoramic view over the city, Republic square, endowed by singing and dancing fountains, Opera house, Northern Avenue, Cascade Complex.
  • Overnight in Yerevan.

 

Day 3: Yerevan – Garni – Geghard – Symphony of Stones – Yerevan

  • After breakfast at the hotel drive to the unique caved temple St. Geghard (12th -13th cc.), the name of which means “holy spear” in the honor of the same spear that pierced the body of crucified Jesus Christ. It is now exhibited in the museum of Etchmiadzin Cathedral on the way short Photo stop at Charents Arc.
  • Visit the only remaining pagan temple in Armenia devoted to the God of Sun – Myrth, Garni, built in 77 AD by King Trdat.
  • Drive by Symphony of Stones – a natural monument located in the basin of the Azat River consists of huge symmetric hexagon and pentagon basalt columns (nearly 50 meters high), which seem to be handmade due to their amazing symmetry also referred to as “Basalt Organ Pipes”.
  • Overnight in Yerevan.

 

Day 4: Tsaghkadzor – Sevan Lake – Sevanavank Monastery

  • Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Tsaghkadzor (means “gorge of flowers”) town, the magical place of forested mountains.
  • Short walking tour around the small town.
  • Opportunity to go up to the mountain peaks by rope way, where you will catch an unforgettable gorgeous panoramic view of this part of the world (going up the first level and back). In winter Tsaghkadzor is a well-known ski resort with several levels of ropeways leading up the mountains. In summer it’s a pleasant place to spend the afternoon in nature and enjoy the sun.
  • Visit Kecharis monastery and after on rope way to Teghenis Mountain.
  • Drive to Sevan Lake and visit Sevanavank monastery.
  • Overnight in Yerevan.

 

Day 5: Departure

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Check-out formalities.
  • Transfer to Zvartnots International Airpor

  • Breakfast at the hotel. First our stop for today will be Khor Virap monastery which when translated from Armenian means deep dungeon.
  • Here according to the legend Gregory, the Illuminator was held prisoner for 13 years and from this place Armenian Christianity stat its roots.
  • Then we will continue our trip to Vayots Dzor region the birthplace of Armenian wine that according to recent archeological findings dates back 6000 years.
  • Here we will visit Noravank monastery.
  • We will proceed to Areni winery for wine degustation.
  • Return to Yerevan.
  • Overnight in Yerevan.

 

Day 6: Departure

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Check-out formalities.
  • Transfer to Zvartnots International Airpor

Day 6: Yerevan – Ejmiatsin – Zvartnots – Yerevan

  • After breakfast drive to Ejmiatsin. The city is best known as the location of Etchmiadzin Cathedral and Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the center of the Armenian Apostolic Church. It is thus unofficially known in Western sources as a “holy city”[and in Armenia as the country’s “spiritual capital”.
  • Then drive to Zvartnots, which literally ‘celestial angels cathedral’. It’s a medieval Armenian cathedral. Built in the 7th century and now lying in ruins, Zvartnots was noted for its circular exterior structure, and a set of interior piers that upheld a multifloor structure crowned with a dome.
  • Overnight in Yerevan.
