Depending on the number of times one wants to enter Russia with one single visa, there are the following VISA types:
• Single entry
• Double entry
• Multiple-entry
• Single entry will be valid only for 30 days from the day of issue for the sole purpose of tourism. For multiple entry total stay period is 90 days; in each visit maximum of 30 days.
• Tourist Voucher or Invitation is an essential document which is required for visa processing.
• If travel period is above 15 days then some additional documents are required like:

• Business visa is suitable for those people looking to travel temporarily for business purpose in Russia. You can opt for single, double and multiple entries.
• Single and double entry has stay period of 3 months. In multiple entry visa validity is 1 year, out of 360 days you can stay for 180 days (In first half of the year 90days and in second half of the year 90 days)
• For Business category Invitation is an essential document. This type of invitation is an official letter issued by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, its regional representatives or special local offices of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The letter should contain official seal, legal address of the agency, signature and name of a person, officially authorized to invite foreigners to Russia.
• There are different types of business invitations:
Most international students require a Russian student visa to come and study in Russia. In order to apply for a Russian student visa, you first need to have been accepted onto a course at a Russian college, university, or place of higher educational learning. A Russian student visa is valid for 90 days but can be extended to a year and then renewed after that for the duration of the study. This visa is valid for study in any Russian college or university or for any short-term courses.
Work visa is required in case you wish to enter Russian Federation for employment. Work visa can be valid for up to 3 months and can be issued for single entry only. Also work visa can be issued for multiple entries and can be valid for up to 3 years (for highly qualified specialists only).
A Russian private visa permits travelers to enter Russia for personal reasons, as for visiting family members or friends.
It is granted to the applicant based on an invitation completed under the Russian legislation. The host is responsible to apply for the invitation. He/she should be either a Russian citizen or a foreign national who has obtained residency in Russia.
A Russian private visa can be either single entry or double entry.
E-visa is a single-entry visa and issued for 30 calendar days from the date of its issuance. The permitted stay in the Russian Federation with an e-visa is up to 8 days starting from the date of entry, within its validity period. E-visa validity and/or the permitted stay under it cannot be extended. E-visas can be of the following categories only:
